Q: Do I need a special driver's license to operate a motorhome?
A: No. Motorhomes can be driven with a standard
vehicle operator's license.
Q: Is it difficult to drive a large motorhome?
A: Some people find it a bit challenging. With a little
practice, most drivers
find it fun. The view is terrific when you are up that high!
Q: Do I need any special
insurance when I rent from St Johns RV?
A: No. Our insurance covers all licensed drivers. We will need to see and
verify
your license before you begin your vacation, as well as all other
intended drivers. See Rental Terms and Conditions
for more information.
Q: What if I get into an accident. How much will it cost me?
A: Our policy covers the vehicle and occupants,
just like ordinary vehicle
policies. There is a $250 deductible that may be withheld from your
deposit in cases needed to cover accidents or damage exceeding that
amount. Please drive responsible to insure your safety
and that of
your passengers.
Q: Your rates are much lower than others. Can you tell me why?
A: Most rental
companies are dealers, renting from their inventory.
These dealers have much higher overhead than we do and this
contributes
to their higher rental charges. Their business model is
much different than ours, using their rental units
to induce sales. Our
model is strickly rental. The more times we rent, the better for us.
Thus,
we strive to increase rental activitiy with lower rates. These two
factors allow us to offer you the experience
of motorhome travel at an
affordable cost.
Q: What kind of mileage will I get with your motorhome?
A: On average,
highway mileage will be between 7-8 mpg. Your mileage
will vary depending on how you choose to drive.
Based on 8 mpg, the
large fuel tanks in these units will allow you to drive over 500 miles
without stopping to refuel.
Q: Do you have any comments from previous customers?
A: Yes. The following was received
from a customer from 2006 in an
email upon their return. Verbal comments were very favorable.
"We really liked the motorhome and would buy one just like it."
Q: Do I need to refuel the propane tank? I'm not sure where to
go.
A: No, we can estimate the amount used and you will be responsible for
paying the amount estimated. If you desire,
you may have the tank filled
prior to your return and there will be no charge.
Q: Do I need to refuel the motorhome
gas tank before returning?
A: We recommend you do refuel at one of the local gas stations before
returning.
If we need to top off the tank, a service charge of
$25 will be charged for this service plus the actual cost
of fuel using
the local retailers. An invoice will be provided for this service.
Q: How many RVs do you offer
for rent?
A: As of 2011, we added a Diesel Pusher to our lineup, thus two
units from which to choose.
Q:
In the event of a mechanical failure, what happens?
A: St Johns RV is responsible for any mechanical repairs. In the event of
mechanical failures that would not allow a renter to continue on their trip,
the renter should contact us
and we will make arrangements for repairs
to be made if possible. Refunds will be made for days lost due to
these
mechanical failures. St Johns RV will be responsible for the safe return
of the motorhome
should such failures occur. Where possible, St Johns
RV will make a reasonable attempt to secure transportation
back to the
rental site for those traveling in the said rented motorhome.
